Construction

Throughout my music magazine there were alot of rather drastic alterations and adjustments as well as some which were less significant, E.g Wording of sentences

As you can see my initial designs although they were thought out and set in a way that should be easy for a reader to understand there were no conventional aspects of a magazine included. The writing it to formal and all set out in neat precise collumns, as well as it being too large on the page, which i noticed from looking at the rest of my classes designs is common misconception as writing looks bigger when it is printed.

My magazine has no clear colour scheme as it uses different shades of the same colour which works to emphasise particular things but doesnt work well on the grand scheme of a proffessional magazine

The images included in my magazine design to begin with were not my own and were way too large for the paper in comparison to other areas, E.g the posters were larger thatn the magazine masthead.

These same issues seem to continue there way throughout the initial designs of my magazine.

After i researched the basic conventions of a music magazine i came up with a 'grid' this would help me to assign each aspect of my magazine to a certain area.

This allowed me to assign each picture or peice of text an area on the page that would follow the conventional layout.

I later began to add the correct images and sections of text that is needed in my music magazine, headlines, mastheads, story's, barcode etc.

Although this was a good attempt at my front cover as it included multiple conventions that are found on modern music magazines it also included some things that didnt quite 'fit'

The paper was coloured a light pink colour which didnt highlight the text effectively along side the 'posters' which just looked like they had been randomly placed in the corner to fill space.

Other than that there were just minor alterations needed to my Front Cover

My final alterations to my home page left me with a very professional looking magazine that follows alot of common conventions.

I completely overhauled my contents page by getting another grid and starting from scratch.

I also edited the colour of the writing to match a colour scheme on my contents page, i maintained the them with the shapes to match the POP logo.

This continued throughout my two page spread where i recoloured images so that they matched the theme.
